Our Pony Stars programme allows young riders to develop their riding, horse care and stable management skills. Riders can work towards goals and achievements while building confidence and enjoying time with our ponies. These sessions are held monthly from age 4. They work through a book, gaining stickers once they have achieved a topic and badges once they complete a chapter. A rosette and certificate are awarded on completion of the book.
Our Explorer Awards encourage riders to learn more about horses, riding and the countryside around them. Riders can develop practical skills, knowledge and confidence while enjoying a variety of horse-related activities. This is the next step from the Pony Stars, ideal for teenagers.
Our Challenge Awards offer riders the opportunity to set goals, learn new skills and develop their confidence both in and out of the saddle. They are a fun way to recognise progress and achievement at every level. There are four levels to work through: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, with 8 subjects per level. There are 4 stable management and 4 riding subjects. A certificate is awarded for each subject.
Our Changing Lives Through Horses programme uses interaction with horses to help people develop confidence, communication, resilience and life skills. Sessions are adapted to individual needs and provide a supportive, positive environment.
As a BHS Approved Riding Centre, we offer opportunities for riders and aspiring equestrian professionals to work towards British Horse Society assessments. Our experienced team can provide training and support to help candidates prepare for their assessments. We can offer training and assessment for Stage One (Care and Ride) and Stage Two (Care and Ride Out)
The Riding Centre Assistant Award provides an opportunity for young people (13+ years) to develop practical skills and experience within a riding centre environment. Participants learn about horse care, stable duties and working safely around horses while building confidence and responsibility.
